Beach restrooms and electricity at your beach wedding
What about beach restrooms for your wedding ceremony? If the wedding ceremony is going to be short and sweet, you may not have to worry about this. But, if you are planning a ceremony with any length and perhaps your reception on the beach as well, you will need to provide some kind of restroom facilities for guests.
Position your celebration close to the public restrooms - Make sure they are not closed after a certain hour. Don't make your guests walk too far through the sand.
Rent portable beach restrooms - This is not expensive and you can place them close enough to where the ceremony and reception is so it is convenient. But make sure you check to see if you need a permit.
Electricity for lighting needs - If you have chosen to erect a tent on the beach, the wedding tent rental company will provide lighting in your tent at your request. It will be an additional charge. Do not expect glamorous lights, it is usually what they call "string" lighting. It is dim. Ask how many strings they will put up and you may want to rent more. You may also want to have "up" lighting on the ceiling of the tent. These are spots that are strategically placed, perhaps behind some palms trees you have placed in corners of the tent for decoration. It is fun to place a "cut-out-stencil" over the light so that you have a shape reflected on the ceiling of the tent. This can be anything you choose: stars, seashells, fish, it is most effective!
Electricity for your caterer - Make sure you cover this with your caterer. Ask what their needs are. They will need lighting. Most caterers will want a "cook tent" for assembly of your food. Some caterers that are pros catering beach weddings, will have their own tent and take care of their own lighting needs.
Just a tip, if you want to use Tiki Torches - they add ambiance for sure, but do not provide sufficient light. You also have to beware that if it is windy, they put off a black smoke and it can be most annoying if it is too close to your food and guests.
